..:: The Global Trust Center
The Global Trust Center (GTC) is an independent non-profit organisation that develops policy, standards and procedures to enable trust in all digital interactions. The GTC provides a forum for governments, businesses and civil society to carry out research and engage in dialogue to develop the framework required for users to enjoy significantly enhanced trust levels in the digital world.

The mission of the GTC is to place the individual user at the centre of all digital interactions and to reaffirm fundamental values of legality, integrity and accountability.

The GTC examines and reports on the key issues arising in the use of ICT. The organisation has developed the GTC Global Policy on Enabling Trust in the Digital World (GTC Policy) as a tool for defining the requirements needed for users to enjoy trust in digital communication in the future information society. Its research activities cover the related aspects of technology, legal requirements, economic performance and organisational interactions. To achieve its objectives, the Global Trust Center acts as a:

  • champion of the user's rights in the digital world, including property rights;
  • policy and standards setting body for the development and implementation of users' rights in the digital world;
  • facilitator for the individual user to transition, seamlessly, between the physical world and its multiple jurisdictions and the digital world;
  • authority on the definition and communication of best practice and guidance on issues of digital identity and trust;
  • research authority on the use of ICT and the GTC Policy
